Working on a floral pattern and here's some of my inspiration/reference photos. I'm so in love with the faded black and white photos of the peonies, so I'm thinking this pattern will be done in graphite to get a similar look.

As all my readers should know by now, I'm a big Tavi fan. She's truly one of the most brilliant women I've ever encountered and I wish I had her depth of understanding when I was a sophomore in high school, and even now. So I was honored when I received an email last night that said one of my illustrations would be featured in her online magazine for teenage girls, Rookie. After I read the email I started imagining what I would want to hear when I was trapped in the depths of despair, otherwise known as high school. To my surprise, the article my Illustration accompanied was exactly what 15 year old me desperately needed to hear. The article, A Tried and True Map to Paradise, was written by Sarah Sophie Flicker; Creative Director of the Citizens Band, half of filmmaking team with Maximilla Lukacs, a contributor to HelloGiggles and editor at large for Lula magazine. I couldn't ask to be in better company and I can't wait to work with the Rookie team in the future.
Click HERE to read the full article, I highly recommend it!
I was recently asked why I didn't have more of my own artwork up considering I'm an Illustrator. Well here you go! I typically work in pen or graphite, sometimes oil for more long term projects. Enjoy!

A few posts ago I apologized for being somewhat absent recently due to a big project I was working on, well here's the first product of it! I've been thinking about having some fabric printed for a while but didn't have the time until recently. I've created a few patterns and ordered some to be printed. While that batch is being made I decided to try some block printing on my own. Here are the results! The dress will be available for order along with a few other items in a few weeks.
